Weekly Moleskine Arrives

A very promising piece of web recently opened up, WeeklyMoleskine.com.  The artists behind this cause are GC regular Michael Scott Hay and Watertown's Tim Keller (who has a surprising lack of a presence on GC, something we'll mos def have to fix).  The site will feature weekly Moleskine sketches from the artists and promises to be a very fruitful endevour.  Here's our favorite bits from the first few weeks.

Michael Scott Hay-

Tim Keller-

We're very, very (very) excited to see what comes next.

Check/bookmark/home page this site!

And mark Feb 9th for DrTSF's 8th Edition and your chance to contribute to our DrTSF show in Ipso.

Have a good weekend.

DrTSF 8th Edition: Something Exciting...

Alright, all "mystery" aside, we got some huge news for you guys.  So huge we decided to use the coveted, #d7a44c gold color for the new DrTSF banner.

We're officially announcing DrawnTown Sioux Falls 8th Edition.  It will be next Tuesday the 9th, start at 6.30 pm and running 'til the cows come home.  The venue is going to be none other then FP Headquarters in the Gourley Building on Main.  The space provides us a great view of the Old Courthouse Museum, the brick buildings on Main Ave., some great art at Ipso gallery, and Wiley's (where a post-DrTSF "After Dark" might take place).  We'll also have easels, set up some still-life's, and maybe (maybe) have a non-nude model (maybe (maybe)).  Bring your Macs, your sketchbooks, your Wacom tablets, your hungry pencils.  We've heard word of a few local art classes possibly stopping by, so it'll be a certified party.  A private venue will be a nice, enclosed space to draw, write, record, mingle, and rock 'n' roll.

We're asking for a big crowd because...

DrawnTown Sioux Falls is getting a gallery show!  On March 5th we're going to launch a show at FP's Ipso gallery exclusively for DrawnTown work.  Our goal is to turn Ipso into a giant sketchbook.  We're going to showcase and explore all the work done at DrT's, including drawings, writings, musings, and even some audio.  DrawnTown was born out of a desire to develop art and explore the process, which will all be on display.  We just got the go ahead for the show so we're still working on the deets.  Stay tuned here on GC as news develops.  Mark your calendars for the reception, March 5th.

See everyone Tuesday?
